The brake system sizing spreadsheet has been designed for twin hydraulic master cylinder circuits. The purpose of which is to allow the user to determine how changing parameters within the braking system can alter the overall brake system bias.

Two options are available for download, metric or imperial (for the most part).

All parameters of the brake system are entered, such as pedal ratio, master cylinder and caliper piston bore sizes etc and the brake line pressure, caliper clamping force, braking torque and overall bias are output. This allows for the user to alter parts such as master cylinder bore sizes and note the effect on overall bias.

 

These calculations are fundamental to any two cylinder circuit, and are very important to consider when changing any part of the braking system.
